Psalm 27: 13-14
I am still confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
I am preparing today to go to another funeral. This time the funeral is for an 18 year old young lady.
Prayers are always answered but not always the way we desire for them to be answered.
When darkness rips beauty away, I am drawn to the Psalms. When I hear repeated callous remarks from some who call themselves Christian, I am drawn to the Psalms. When nations fight in horrific acts of terror and violence, I am drawn to the Psalms. When my soul has been battered by that which is in opposition to Grace, I am drawn to the Psalms. When sin/evil/darkness destroys and I feel absolutely helpless and inadequate in the face of such ugliness, I am drawn to the Psalms.
“My heart says of you, ‘Seek his face!’ Your face, Lord, I will seek. (vs 8) And as I sought your face today, Lord, you told me that I WILL see the goodness of the Lord NOW in the land of the living. Just wait for it. Hang in there. Be cheered. Be strengthened. Breathe. Kay, wait for Me. I, the Lord, have it all handled; just wait and see.
It is good to be reminded that God will prevail. That this world He created is His and His goodness will be seen.
I needed that reminder today.
