Spirit-Taught

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:10-14

“The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.”  Why wouldn’t we want to know the Spirit?  Why wouldn’t we be banging at the Spirit’s door wanting to enter and be in relationship with him?  “….in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.”  I would rather sit in prayer waiting on communion and fellowship with the Spirit than have the knowledge of every Biblical commentary written to date.  The Spirit teaches with an understanding that is beyond the mind of this world.

As Christians who want to move forward into receiving and sharing the glory of God we must be in relationship with the Spirit.  No book, man, song, movie, sermon, will ever be able to plunge the depths of God and bring understanding to our minds and souls as the Spirit can and will.  Be willing to step away from the the safety of man’s interpretation of scripture and be taught by the Spirit of God Himself.  Be willing to be spread, changed.  Be willing to trust that God/Jesus/Spirit loves  you and will teach you; one on one.

We must spread our wings and fly or be ever dependent upon others to bring us daily sustenance of their choosing.  I pray that we all choose and learn to fly.  The Spirit will soar with us to places we never imagined and feed us with nourishment that will satisfy as nothing in this world would ever be able to do.

Let’s Fly,

Kay
