“Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good things of the land;
If you have followed my blog for a time you are aware that we bought a grand ole home that had been neglected for far too long. While demolition was happening on the kitchen recently the lovely skeleton in the above picture was found in a wall in the kitchen along with the nest the critter had built there. Immediately I thought of the saying, “We all have some skeletons in our closets.” Then my next thought was that God is exposing the skeletons, Amen!
In this world I think it is quite difficult to live a life with clean closets. Seems we all hide something for whatever reason. We guard those closets like a ravenous watch dog ready to pounce at the slightest movement toward our closet. We can spend so much time guarding and protecting that we forget to live. And I can just see God sitting on His throne and shaking His glorious head back and forth, “Come now, let us settle the matter. Together we can clean this mess up; though that closet is a filthy mess now we can make it sparkle.” Dear Reader, there is a catch: WILLINGNESS and OBEDIENCE. We have to want that closet clean and we must follow the Lord’s cleaning routine.
I want to live a life devoid of skeletons in my closet. I am ready and willing for the Holy Mr Clean to wipe out those skeletons and to fill that now empty space with His Spirit; with the life He desires for me.
How about you? God any squirrel bones in your walls?
