He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
So sorry that my posts have been slim to none over the last few months. It just seems as though one unexpected thing after another happened and life is just now beginning to settle to the point that I can once again try to establish some order back to my days.
Most recently, where I live just experienced a super-storm of snow and dangerously low temperatures. The picture above was just a few hours into the snow fall; much more accumulated before it was all over. Throughout these days of concern over electricity continuing to work, keeping vigil so that water pipes would not freeze, wearing proper clothing in extreme cold, caring for Mom who has been sick, and on and on the list seems to go, one thing continued to float in and out of my thoughts; the imagine of the roof of our house covered with snow. I thought about that covering a lot and I felt comforted by it. The more I pondered why the image was so fixed in my mind, the more I recalled scripture that tells of God’s covering.
God’s covering is over His people. That does not mean that everyday will be perfect in this world’s eyes, but it does mean that the Lord is over, under and all around those who love Him. Open your eyes right now and see the Lord is covering you. He is there. He is here. We can depend upon Him.
Covered by Him,
