4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
For those of us living in the United States one has to wonder if the government is for us or against us; were they elected to serve us or themselves. Whether you tend to side with the Republicans or the Democrats, I think we can all agree that our government is not working. It is an unsettling feeling knowing that the fate of your life and all those around you is in the hands of people you will probably never meet and who have no idea who you are, what you do, what you think or desire. The news is unsettling and I needed a Word from the Lord this morning because I began to entertain the seed of fear.
These words from Philippians came to my mind as I called out to the Lord to clear my mind and put me once again in line with Him. “Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS!” No fear, no concern, no doubt, just REJOICE! “Do not be anxious about ANYTHING!” Give it ALL to the Lord and PEACE will reign. Pray, petition, give thanks in EVERY situation. Congress are you listening?! Forget the debate……..PRAY! Kay are you listening?…..forget the fear…..PRAY and REJOICE!
